Myself, my wife and our 2 year old daughter are off to Madrid, again next week. I've taken a few trips by rail in the past (to El Escorial and Toledo) and wouldn't mind taking a day trip somewhere different this time.
I would prefer rail as the trains are a joy to travel on (after British ones..) but don't want to spend more than an hour or so getting to somewhere as my daughter will no doubt get bored pretty quick.
Are there any half decent day trip recommendations to be gotten here??
