Hi,
Does anyone know of a website where you can enter a street name and see where it is in Madrid?
I'm getting street addresses of car rental companies in Madrid, and want to know how
far they are from my hostal.

In particular, does anyone know if Budget Rental at Calle Jose Abascal #31 is within a mile of Hostal Lopez?

I've been quoted $248 (not including 16% VAT) for two weeks rental of a compact car with Budget. This is for Madrid center pickup, return to airport. Anybody know
of better deals?

We made reservations through Auto Europe (e-mail reservations@autoeurope.com). There's a wbsite too. We've reserved an economy car, manual transmission for 15 days including 16% sales tax for $286.20. They have been very helpful. You can pick up and drop off at any of their locations at no extra charge. (One is 60 Gran Via, Madrid.) We used them in Italy last year and were very pleased with quality and service.

One of my personal favorite "Have Address, Get Map" websites is Callejero Hoy . Keep in mind that the site is in Spanish, but you can probably manage anyway.

..but it looks pretty far north (3 miles?) from both Gran Vía AND even further from Hostal Lopez . Not really walkable at all. Have a GREAT trip!

Thanks for the additional info, Madridman. Looks like too long to walk, but I see there are metro stations nearby.
And thanks for AutoEurope info. I too have used them in Italy and was happy, so will contact them too.
