What's the best way to go to the Ciudad Encantada from Madrid?

I drove when I went. You can probably get a bus from Madrid to Cuenca, but I don't know if there is any public transportation to the Ciudad Encantada itself. I don't remember seeing any residences, and if no one lives there....

I'm trying to avoid as much as possible the renting of a car. The whole process would not be worth it, since I would only need a car for Ciudad Encantada; for every other place that I am going, there are buses! How far is Ciudad Encantada from Cuenca? Could I rent a motorbike in Cuenca?

I agree it's not worth renting a car for just that. (Even though it really is worth seeing.) Ciudad Encantada is about 20-30 km from Cuenca, and the road is spectacular. Doing it on a motorcycle is a fantastic idea. I don't know if you can rent one in Cuenca, but you could try e-mailing the oficina de turismo there and asking them.
