Hi All!
I have a question regarding translations - I did a quick search to see if anyone had posted on this topic before, and I didn't see what I was looking for - so sorry to post again if there already is an answer!
I was wondering how much is an 'appropriate' price per word for doing Spanish - English translations? I've done some research and have found anywhere from 0.02 cents/word to 0.15 cents/word. I do understand that it depends on the length of the document, the difficulty of the text, the time required for the finished document/rushed docs, etc. But I was just hoping someone who is currently working as a translator could give me a good solid figure for what is an acceptable rate in Madrid now (March 2010)? Also, what do you charge if you bill the client directly and what do you accept if you get the work from a translation agency? If taking on the work from an agency, is 0.045 cents/word a decent price?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!
Best regards!
