I will be working in El Ferrol for a year and am wondering if I should bother to have my bed shipped or just buy one when I get there. I also will nedd a few other things such as pots, pans, plates etc.. which I do not currently own. Should I buy them here in the states and ship them or purchase these things when I get there. And finally do many apartments come furnished. Thanks.

As far as small household items...I found a Spanish equivalent of a $ store in Segovia where lots of cute useful items were 100pts each ($.56)!

I would say that unless your bed has some sort of sentimental value I would leave it back home. Many places come adequately furnished and the shops are reasonably well stocked for anything you haven't got.

I'm not going to touch this one!
