If you are from the UK just open a nationwide account before you go. The acount has no fees and they do not charge to use your visa debit card in cash machines in Spain.

Some Spanish banks may try to charge you but just remove your card and go to another bank.

This has saved me a fortune on trips to Spain... :-)
