I just read a posting at eurotrip.com where someone said that you are only allowed to bring up to 10 rolls of film into Spain. Is this true?

I've never heard this and since when you enter Spain it is very rare that anybody looks at your luggage - I wouldn't worry one bit about it.

That's very odd. I brought about 35 rolls and had no problem bringing them and taking them out. This was last Dec./ Jan of 2002. You can contact the Spanish Embassy and ask them to be sure: 1-305-358-1992 ( Miami); 1 (617) 536-2506/2527 ( Boston)and 1 (212) 355-4080/81/82/85/90 in New York, or visit Embassy of Spain in the United States web page.

I'e always bought out BJ's stock of 400 speed (or insert name of your wholesale discount store) and never never had a problem. Do remember to pick up an extra battery for your camera before leaving even if you just had the current one checked. Saves a ton of hassles!

Officially there is a limit of 10 rolls of film per camera. I wasn't even aware of this until 1999. However, I've never had a problem with bringing over LOTS of film and I'm a real shutterbug. Last fall I brought over 50 rolls of film with me to Spain and didn't have an issue. :o

Yeah, I was also very concerned about this one...except I was concerned about bringing my film back into the USA. When I went through customs on the way home, they did search my carry on (Which made me nervous because I had around 15 rolls of film with me). I did not have a problem though, because I packed it in different places within my carry on luggage (suitcase, purse, pockets etc...). I would not worry to much about it wink
