I visited Madrid recently from New York and went on the most amazing tapas crawl with local Andres through Walks of Spain. Andres brought a bunch of us who had contacted him online to the coolest taverns where we sampled the best of local tapas and drinks from each tavern. For English-speakers who wanna go on a tapas crawl, Walks of Spain is the best! It's a cool way to meet other travellers and also the only way to eat and drink where the locals do. Check it out!

Does something seem a little odd about this post or is it just me? Sounds like a nicely placed advertisement.

Oh come on, what's this scepticism about? The tone may be gushy but that's because I feel genuinely glad that I had the opportunity to go on a great tapas crawl and wanted other non-Espanol-proficient travellers to have as great a time as I had. So sales-y tone aside, I stand by my message

I agree with layting! (what kind of a name is layting?) I also had a great experience with walks of spain. I recommended it to all my friends...it's definitely not a sales pitch, it's really the truth!

Forgive me for being skeptical. I have read good things about the walks on this site and in other places so do not take it as me being critical of Andres. In fact when I visit in February I may check out the walks.

(I did think the tone of the original post seemed a little fishy though.)

I was on the same group as LayTing and I stand by her comments. They certainly were not a sales pitch. We all had heaps of fun, Andres brought some friends along as well. Met people who share the same passion for a great time.
