I'll be staying in Madrid over New Year's eve and I'm looking for suggestions on what to do. Open to almost anything with a good vibe. Suggestions???

Buy a bunch of grapes (very expensive because of price-gouging for the fiesta); go to the Puerta del Sol and eat a grape each time the clock bells sound at midnight.

Do not miss the Puerta Del Sol at midnight on New Year's Eve. It's total madness but it's such a great thing to be a part of. Make plan to get there early and be prepared to be with thousands of party people.

Don't forget the champagne! And I would probably head off for Plaza Santa Ana and Calle Huertas afterwards. That's what I'll probably be doing! And don't get too worried if you see that bars are not open as many of them will only open up at 1 a.m.
