yes i went to the one i think you are talking about outside the city. it was when i was here the first time and i was with a group of american students (long story.......) but anyways. you have to go very formally dressed, it´s DEFINITELY not like a party place, no vegas, no laughlin, you have to go dressed nice and it´s like a serious thing. i don´t really gamble, just slots, i played 300 pts and had a drink and i was done for the night. it´s really not much fun, i wouldn´t recommend it.

I believe the casino is in Torrelodones, to the northwest of Madrid. You can take the train.

As far as I know, there is just the one outside of the city.
Don't take the train-there is a bus for free that takes you from the city center (Plaza de Colón or Plaza de España) to the Casino, which is on the carretera in direction of La Coruña, outside of the city. Check the casino webpage for schedules www.casinogranmadrid.es

I am not so fond of casinos, never spent any cent there, I have been to a few in Europe and this one was for me just like the others. Rather solemn than party atmosphere and yes, you have to be dressed nice.
Drinks are pretty cheap, anyhow.

There is a casino in Madrid about a five minute walk from Puerta del Sol. It is next to Hotel Regina on Calle Alcala. However, I didn't go into it, and to my understanding it is not like an american casino. Sorry I can't tell you what it was like. I did notice the "casino" sign engraved in fine metal.

I play slots in the bars and restaurants of Spain. Slots are everywhere. The only problem is that we don't understand the games. (Our favorite slots in North America are: Filthy Rich, Jackpot Party, Boom, Reel'em in, Wild Rose, Haywire and French quarters.) OK, so when we play in Spain we don't know what we are doing. Once my husband won in Triana, Sevilla. He played 25 pts and won 1000 pts. Our Spanish friends told us they never play the machines and were impressed with the win.
