I know there are a lot of food lovers on this site so I thought you may be interested in this article . The link is in Spanish , but I´ll provide the text in English ( using an online translator as there´s too much for me to do ! ) . Some Madrid restaurants have done well !

http://www.20minutos.es/noticia/574639/0/celler-can-roca/estrella/michelin/

I tried the translator but it translated the restaurants names into English so , apologies to those who don´t speak Spanish .

Someone put up the Michelin guide for Madrid on tripadvisor . We used to goto the Farmacia on Capitan Haya quite a lot when we lived in Madrid .

If anyone is nearby Alicante province then PLEASE go to the mountain village of Benimantell ( Near the famous village of Guadalest ) . There´s a restaurant called L'Obrer . Having dined in some of the most expensive restaurants worldwide this place stands out as spectacular ! The "Menú" is 35 Euros ... but you´ll be spending 35 Euros VERY wisely . I felt like jumping up and down like a frog afterwards . And the village is tiny with spectacular views . Go there !!! ( But you may need a booking ... It´s well known despite being off the beaten track ! ) . I should mention that your 35 Euros will include a huge tapas starter , main course and exsquisite mixed desserts .. and a bottle of Rioja ..And complimentary chupitos . Wow .. I want to go back there !!!! The owner is sooo nice .. His son ( 19 years old maybe ) is one of the waiters and was , despite his youth , amazingly good .. very friendly and efficient , a nice guy . They have a barbeque outside where they cooked our massive steaks and goat . It´s top class stuff ! Actually , i´m going to say it : It´s the best restaurant i´ve ever been to in España !!! Period !

If you´re in the UK .. then pick up the January edition of Vanity Fair ! ( Yeah I know it´s aimed at the Ladies , but it always has great articles ). I picked it up in London for my flight but didn´t read it until now . It has a fantastic , glowing 10 page special about Madrid ! For foodies out there , there´s an international fusion food summit in Madrid at the end of this month and most of the best chefs in Spain and many from around the world will be there ! Check out www.madridfusion.net . Some interesting news/facts too . The Petit Palace group of hotels will be opening a branch in Calle Hortaleza ( Chueca ) , and did you know that " Madrid is the only European capital with it´s own wine appellation " ! The article also covers Chinchón , Aranjuez Alcalá de Henares etc... Really good article !
