Hey, sorry for my ignorance but would someone please explain if and how the following terms differ: tasca, tapa, cafe, terrazza. Thanks

Hi Ron,

I hope this helps: smile

-'tasca'(or also 'taberna') would be a term to describe a traditional bar. A place where people would mainly go have some wines (vinos).

-'tapa' is a small portion of a Spanish dish, it can be very simple (assorted olives or pickles), or elaborate (paella, or 'callos'), there are hundreds of them. Some bars offer them for free with your drink; and they're very popular for dinner outings amongst friends. Also the 'raciones' are slightly bigger portions than 'tapas'.

-'café' can either refer to coffe(as in a cup of....), or coffe house.

-'terrazas' are our side-walk cafes.

¡Saludos!
