En los Recuerdos , or in the memories of my old Madrid, this is a local bar just around the corner from where I used to lived and visit as pilgrimage now on each visit, Docamar, plaza Quintana metro Quintana line 5, the best still going strong.
the photos are of old establishement that abound on this part of Madrid, from Ventas over to Quintana in district Ciudad Lineal. Enjoy them and any comments welcome.

Pedmar,

Very nice. I spent a couple of years in Spain in 1978 and 1979, and it wasn't quite as rustic as these pictures, but these pictures are closer to how it was then than it is today.

Those were the days when Spain was something special. You really knew that you were in a foreign country.

YES INDEED back then it was all Spain; and better Madrid. I even tell my Spanish friends that meets again in MAdrid and the new of places change or name change and the list is huge. Right around there that restaurant that sponsored those photos Docamar in plaza quintana used to be a Simago and sepu stores, now gone long ago.My mom shop there, luckily I was able to buy shoes for my kid where she did for me at Victor Calzado 278 Alcala st!still going strong
Oh I lived four years between 1970-1974 and had my aunt at Canillejas which we went by tramway , finally gone in 1972!
now there is metro service jejeje
