Is the Rostro still held each Sunday? What are the streets?

the rastro flea market is in the lavapies district,i don't know what streets though.

yes, as it has been since the middle ages el rastro is held on sunday's. if i remember it was went from around 9:00am to somewhere around 3:00pm i believe. the two main streets are calle ribera de curtidores and calle de embajadores past the iglesia de san cayetano in the lavapies district

Actually, El Rastro is not at Lavapiés district. It is distrito centro, barrio de embajadores. But this is the official designation.

You may call it Lavapiés since it is not far from there.

Also, El Rastro is also held on bank holidays.

El Rostro is wild. I spent several hours strolling through this seemingly never ending mass of humanity. There is everything imaginable and in some case the unimaginable to be found there. Leather, trinkets, antiques, books, clothes, shoes, and curios of varied quality to be purchased here. There was plenty of police present, but I was still warned of pickpockets. I did not see any street crime, but I was kindly forewarned by the owner of Hostal Chelo about how to guard my wallet.
