No..check out La Tomatina. That tomato festival. Here is an article: http://www.whatsonwhen.com/events/~13473.jml
I just don't know if it is worth a detour for. I mean it looks awesome, but I thought someone may have experienced it.
Peace

Excuse my silliness. the minute after I wrote that, I realized what you were talking about(but you can't delete stuff after ya send it in).
anyway, I didn't do la tomatina when I lived in Spain, but it is really fun to go to at least one or two of the big, crazy festivals while you're there. I had a friend that went and said it was great.
I did go to Lisbon and surrounding areas, and they were beautiful...depends which is more appealing - crazy, messy fun vs checking out more buildings, beaches and museums...

Actually Nicole, you can delete AND edit your own personal posts. Just click on the little pencil/paper graphic next to the time on your/the post you want to edit/delete, enter your username/password and then you can do what you like.

thank ya By the way, I love your site. I have been missing Spain sooooo much recently and had planned a bike trip from barcelona to rome this fall. unfortunately I am moving and can't do it this year, but your site and feeling linked to people with the same passion has eased my disappointment at not being able to go..

Ok, this article says the 23rd. However, I keep hearing that it happens on the last wed. in August (ie. 30th) Anyone know the 'Official' date.
Thanks

I've also heard it's on the last Wednesday of August but I'm not 100% sure. You may want to have a look at this site: http://www.latomatina.com It seems to be one of this easy money business website. I hate this kind of companies but at least it has some information about the fiesta. Regards, Antonio ------------------ The best tips from your favourite hostal in Madrid.
