Really quite unbelievable.
Detailed info re: restaurants, sight-seeing, hotels/hostales, pictures galore, and links to almost every interesting sight near Nerja (Maro, Frigiliana, Balcon de Europa, etc).

There's even a map keyed to every place mentioned on the site - 207 numbered locations!!

Apologies if this is a well-known resource...but it is such a cool site and helped me so much, I had to spread the word.

Nerja is one of the nicests villages I have ever known. Cool guide!

All I can say is, go to Nerja!

It is wonderful little coastal town, mar mediterraneo and Sierra de Almijara mountains create amazing scenery.

My favorite , very inexpensive, restaurant is Pizzaria La Strada , somewhere around Plaza Tutti Frutti, close to centre of the town.

Frigiliana , only few miles away, is really original little pueblo, moorish origins, and worth the visit.

La Axarguia , region of Malaga in the eastern part of the province of Malaga, is worth of touring, lots of interesting places and vistas.

All I can say is COME to Nerja!

I have lived here for several years, and anyone visitng is welcome to get in touch for help with any aspect of the holiday ... and it will only cost you a beer in one of our many excellent bars!

Actually - I don't leave until Dec. 20...I'm just in the last stages of planning. Still need a hostal in Granada and prob. in Sevilla.

I'll be sure to hook everyone up re: what Nerja and surrounding area has to offer. My connections in Spain (and here!) all suggest that Nerja is a great "secret" of southern Spain. guideofnerja.com shows that there are caves, historical buildings, festivals, beaches, historic villages, etc..

Maybe it's for the best right now - we're in the middle of the Fall pledge drive and that's never the best time to be introduced to a new program OR to check out jazz.
