I am calling on the often freaky (in a good way) knowledge some of you have about transportation in and around Madrid. I am arriving at the airport in Madrid and need to go directly to Segovia (I am meeting my wife there). What is the easiest way to get there? Is there a way to go directly from the airport without first going into Madrid? I would be willing to pay a little extra for convenience, although the 32.375 peseta quote I got from AeroCity for the trip is probably not going to be a go considering the potential price of other alternatives. (Although I certainly will use their services in and around Madrid...great reputation and local prices.)

I guess the only way to avoid the city centre is to take a taxi from the airport to the Chamartin railway station and then take the train to Segovia.
