My family´s coming to visit me and we´ll be staying in our place in Vejer and then up to our house in Roses. We´ll be renting a car for the whole time period, and I was hoping someone has any tips and tricks about renting cars here, and semi-long term rents. Also, is it an issue taking a rented car over the Portugal border?
Oh, and we´ll be renting from here in Madrid.

We also rent for a month at a time out of Madrid. This is our 3rd year booking with Pepecar (near the airport in Barajas pueblo). But the cars are all Mercedes Clase A - so it might be smaller than what you are looking for. They do fit my family of 4 very nicely and the trunk is one of the few that our luggage actually fits into.
