I'm not finding anything under $602 for end of May or early June. Any suggestions?

I don't know the significance of $602..but I just looked for Philadelphi to Madrid R/T Dep. May 28, Ret. June 12 and found a $652 fare at cheaptickets.com I think generally speaking, fares have gone up because the war in Iraq is going well. I bought a ticket to the Canary Islands a week and a half ago from LA to Gran Canaria from May 24-June 8 for 752 R/T. I just looked up same ticket , same time same website, and it was $1642. I'm so glad I didnt wait. If you can possibly get the 652 price, I'd jump on it. Prices are only going to rise. Good luck!

Try OneTravel.com. Also consider flying to London on British Air or US Air (possibly also through OneTravel), then get one of those cheap fares on RyanAir or similar to Madrid. But check to see which London airport you'd fly out of.

karenwishart,
I just received a low fare alert from Travelocity for British Airways, round trip from PHL to MAD, layover at Heathrow, dates in May and June for $416 ($515 after charges). I checked dates and there are flights still available.

Wow! Jmcarr, you did fabulous!

I have been trying to find a resonable fare since February and I have noticed that the rates quoted for a December flight are almost as expensive as if I were leaving in July! I guess its perseverance. I HAVE GOT TO GO BACK! I located some Spanish cousins and they've invited us for Christmas. These are very old cousins in their late 70's so I hate to disappoint them. Plus, I need my Spain air! smile

What do you have to do to receive a Travelocity low fare alert?

I booked through Orbitz.com and got a fair of $650pp - which I thought was pretty good since I paid about $950pp last year!! Some friends have decided to go with us (yippee!!) and they booked the exact same flights through Travelocity.com - but she forgot to change the # of pax to 2 and the fair came up $515pp. It might have been a fluke, but for some reason it came up cheaper. When she switched it over to 2 people, it went back to 650. So she booked themselves separately and save money. Very clever. cool

Well, I'm booked. $543.89 non-stop PHL to MAD 5/27 -6/3 w/USAir. If I had left a day later it was $650. Who can figure?!Ican apply$400 worth of travel rewards from my Visa card so that makes it really great. Thanks for the imput, all.
