I know this is off-topic but I think it's interesting to talk about it as Roe says he is using eDonkey2000.

As you all know, donkeys are naughty animals and so they are their electronic "relatives". Why eDonkey2000 is so naughty? Well, because it includes spyware within itself.

Donkeys are naughty?, why would you say such a thing about those poor 'animalitos'? And what about 'Platero'?

After half an hour writing a long post on spyware and adware Madridman edited it just when I was re-editing again and my post got lost As I don't feel like searching again for the links and rewriting everything I'll wait to see if there are people interested on the subject.

Spyware sucks. That's why you should get your P2P clients from http://www.cleanclients.tk/ . Some guy hacked the spyware apps and stripped all the nasty stuff out.

I'm using iMesh from this site and despite the fact that there's lots of "funny" people out there that like to rename other files "Star Wars" so I keep downloading 200 megs of crap, it's pretty good.

Antonio, thanks for adding that about eDonkey2000. I know all about spyware with these programs, and I think you should re-write what you had wanted to post here about it, to make others aware of them. On eDonkey2000, when I used a spyware detection, like http://www.lsfileserv.com/ (Ad-aware), eDonkey2000 would NOT work after deleting those spies, so I had uninstalled it, but most of the other sites like AudioGalaxy, imesh, etc., I did not have any problems using these sites after deleting them.

eDonkey has two different versions. Just get the one that does NOT come with Cydoor advertiseing. They are both free. Yeah, I have heard that Cydoor is spyware, but if you use the other version you will be fine. I use that version and have never had any problems. If you look on the website that has the "clean" versions, they make no mention of eDonkey and in fact offer downloads of the software through eDonkey links.

I have gnucleus, which is clean (gnutella network). Works great for music.
