I am considering booking rooms at Hostal Nuria for a small group in April. Has anyone stayed there? If not, can you give me some insight about the area at Calle Fuencarral (just off Gran Via)? I don't expect luxury, but I don't want to dodge prostitutes when coming and going to the hotel. I usually stay nearer the Puerta del Sol, but I can't seem to get any hostals to agree to book rooms for a group. THanks.

I have to say I don't like calle Fuencarral at all especially near the Gran Via at night,
it is better near metro Tribunal or Bilbao but I would prefer to stay over near plaza mayor...hostal persal is lovely.
