My husband and I are interested in visiting Spain in September 2002. We are not taking our children and would like to stay at a hotel or resort that is adults only. Any suggestions?? I have yet to find ANY listing for resorts at all in Spain. Maybe I am looking in all the wrong places? Any help would be appreciated. Barcelona or Madrid area please--unless you have a really good suggestion for an area that has lots of history, architecture, and possibly a beach.

Thanks for your time,
Snowgirl

It's not adults only but Hyatt has a lovely resort in Cartagena, Murcia. It's located on the beach and has golf courses, pool, the works. The property also has less expensive apartments if you're interested. You can check it out on Hyatt's website and they'll send you a brochure on request. As for adults only, nothing comes to mind.

Do such Adults-Only hotels even exist in Spain? I've never heard of any.

I really, really doubt that such a thing exists. Even the nudists resorts aren't probably adults-only!

We've always had very good experiences with "other people's children" in Spain...they have never disrupted our sleep or our meals one bit. Now other ADULT travelers, that's another story! Ask me someday about the thin walls in a hostel in Salamanca, and I could tell you a lot! smile

They exist, for example Club-Med clasifies their ressorts something like, With facilities for kids over 4months ,2years ,4years ,10years,no kid special facilities and 18over only.

I think in Spain there is only one of the last type and it is in Majorca
