i remember a nice one on the the calle zorilla just off the paseo del prado and behind the cortes. but i can't remember the name so i can't find their number. anyone, moderator perhaps know of this very pleasant hostal on this quiet street?

There are several "hostales" on Calle Zorilla including the MadridMan Recommended Hostal Oporto on Calle Zorilla, 9.

Another one which I JUST added last night to the Madrid Hostels page is Hostal Olga which is also on Calle Zorilla, 13.

There's also the Hostal Mirentxu on Calle Zorilla, 7 which I've toured and found it nice enough.

Finally, there's Hostal Reconquista on Calle Zorilla, 7.

Might one of the above be the one of which you're thinking? You can plug in the addresses of each into http://fotos.qdq.com and see a photo(s) of their address and maybe that will remind you which one it is. Good luck!
