Greetings..
My wife and I are taking our two teenage sons to Madrid and are looking for housing April 1-4. We have traveled to other countries in Europe, and know how small some rooms can be. We are hoping to find 1 double or queen size bed and 2 singles.
Would a hotel have this type of set up, or do we need to get an apartment? We were hoping to stay in the old quarter as we will not have a car.

Any help??

frankkathi, do you require a hotel or would you settle for a less-expensive, fewer amenities "hostal" instead?

MOST hotels will certainly have a room for four persons, even if they have to add a roll-away bed at an additional cost.

I do know that Hostal Chelo has one room with 4 twin beds. Hostal López also has one large room with one double bed and two twin beds.

You could also consider one of the many holiday apartments whose links you can find on MadridMan\'s Madrid Apartments page. Some of these have been reviewed right here in this forum (psst! Use the SEARCH link to find them).

As for the car... you won't need one in Madrid. You' have your two feet, the metro, buses, and millions of taxis. You're set. Shame you all won't be in Madrid on April 11th for the next "Party With MadridMan in Madrid: Version 5.0".

Thanks for the information...we will fly into Madrid, stay for a few days, then we plan on taking the train to either Lisbon or Siville...we have not decided yet. We were then going to rent a car and cruise the coast. We fly back out of Barcelona.

We will be in Spain from April1 to April 16th. We are open to suggestions, any ideas out there??

I think most all (or all) of the apartments listed on MadridMan\'s Madrid Apartment page have kitchens or kitchenettes with refrigerator, sink, and at least a microwave if not also an oven/stove. You should contact the individual apartment owner to be sure that cooking/eating supplies are provided though. I can't imagine they'd rent you an apartment and then say, "Welcome to the apartment! Hope you brought along your own glasses, plates, and cooking pans!" hehehee..
