I am planning on being in Madrid for a few days this August and need to find a hostal with air conditioning and a triple room . It should be child friendly as well. Any suggestions?

Can only say DONT try the Hostal Persal. Their aircon-option rooms are/were tiny. We ended up moving to a non aircon room just to have breathing space. Of course, we couldnt breathe then, due to lack of aircon! Hope someone else can give you positive feedback.

Go to the Hostal Aguilar. They have great prices, big triple rooms, good air conditioning, excellent location, internet access in the lobby, phones and huge private bathrooms. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.
