Has anyone read this book by Ben Curtis? Worth reading?

Quote:
Synopsis
This book covers my first three years in Spain, from my reasons for escaping the UK, to how I met Marina (and a few other 'intercambios' along the way) and the first journeys to unknown corners of the country. Discover wild fiestas, strange confrontations with Spanish culture and family life, the renovation of a decrepit flat in Madrid's old quarter, and an intimate portrait of Lavapies, a traditional inner city 'Barrio'.
I only hope that MadridMan serialises his own book (when? if?) on this site....

Filbert

Erm - isn't Ben a message board member here? I think so cool

I've not read the book, but have listened to some of his podcasts, which are great.

Thanks Filbert,

Sounds like an addition to my book reading list. I'll definitely keep an eye out for it.

I agree, Jo-Anne, those podcasts by Ben are really fascinating. I've listed to a number of them too. I knew of your countryman's book but haven't read it.

Seems everyone's writing their own book these days. Maybe I'll take filbert's advise and write one chronicling the life and times of MadridMan. wink I'll do it in my SPARE time, that is. (spare time?)

Saludos, MadridMan

I have read his book - it is quite good. He seems like a very nice guy and found his niche in Spain - like many of us. I have read quite a few of this genre - I agree we need an American transplant to Spain book - MM I think youve been nominated!
