Hello all,
Now that i have decided to move to Spain in 2002, my question is this: What about health insurance? What should I do about it? What are your suggestions?
Please let me know.
Thanks
Brien

Brien- There is already a thread on this very topic elsewhere on the board. Seek and ye shall be enlightened. Good to see another Minnesotan on the board, too!

Tara,
That's a really great idea. Count me in. I could talk about Spain until i lose my voice. It sounds like a lot of fun!

Brien, about your question - If you haven't yet seen the thread CaliBasco is talking about, it's here in About Spain, and it's called International Health Insurance. It's worth reading. I recommend you get a policy with Sanitas ( www.sanitas.es ). You can read more about it in that other thread! (Bummer I'm nowhere near Minneapolis!)

Agree on that one, the two main health services companies are Sanitas or Asisa ( www.asisa.es), both offer a wide range of doctors and hospitals all over the country and are pretty equivalent on prices and coverage.

And if Sanitas ever fails you, there's always the local curandera if you're in the hills of Euskadi...hierbas anyone?

yeah, i agree with sanitas. i´ve been with them for almost 2 years now. i pay around 12.700 ptas/month for premium insurance incl. dental. i only (only?) had to go to the hospital once during this time and the payment and handling procedure was really fast and w/o any problems.
