I was wondering where I can find information about festivals in Spain. I'd like to know what will be going on while I am there and that will help me plan my trip a little bit better. I'll be there the 2nd week of March. Can anyone give me some direction here?

Amy, What city or cities do you plan on visiting - that will help us respond. Also, check the opening page for links to other sites for information - city/province sponsored sites have all this. If I'm not mistaken there is a big festival in Vallencia about the time you will be visiting - bumbled into it one year and it was super - but rooms were hard to come by as a result. And I'm embarrased to admit I can't remember exactly what iit was for/about. Let us know where you are going, what you would like to see - then we can try and help

the Fallas of Valencia will be going on March 15th through the 19th!

you'll have to check the exact days on these, but here are the months and some dates when some of the well known festivals occur:

national flamenco competition in cordoba: its is mid-may. this is held only once every third year. 2001 happens to be one of the years.

fiesta de san isidro in madrid: may 8-15

feria de sevilla: mid-april

semana santa in sevilla: palm sunday to easter sunday

fallas de valencia: march 15-19

moros y cristianos in alcoi: usually the third week of april.

question: Is there a website out there that details the events/goings on in Madrid during the San Isidro festival May 8-15?

I am debating whether to go during this or maybe sometime later in June when it will be warmer?

any thoughts?
