I am coming to Spain for business.
Does anyone know the maximum amount of money a foreigner can deposit at a bank in Madrid without causing too much troubles for his working VISA?
Or would it be better for me to get a bank check instead?

i opened an account a 'caja de madrid' with $5000 US$ as an illegal and didn't have any trouble. i used the account for over a year, making withdrawals and deposits every week without a hitch.

i wonder if recent world events might trigger alerts to authorities if you are depositing some insane amount...?
