Sadly, Spain loses another great musician. Alicia de la Rocha passed away yesterday, Sept. 25th. She was regarded as one of Spain's greatest pianists as well as the world. I enjoyed her recordings and enjoyed watching her play, that is when she was on TV. She was a small lady with stubby little fingers but she played so beautifully and gracefully. She really put her heart into her music. She was one of my Spanish icons.

Sad to read this news. I have many of her recordings and believe that her performance of the Mozart Sonatas is about the best that can be heard.

I agree with you Admiral44. She was one of the best interpreters of Mozart. I also loved her Spanish composers interpretations. Light and elegant.
