Where's a really good shop for kitchen items in Madrid?

I've searched the forums, as I recall a mention of one in the last year, but didn't encounter any posts.

Specifically, I'me looking for a
Bron Mandoline .

I came across one when wandering thru Mardid recently for EUR 140 (with finger guard) in an old traditional hojalatería on c/ Imperial - - but not the model I wanted.

Has anyone seen any around?

Torrales kindly mentions the ALAMBIQUE cooking school. You can read the thread " Where is Alambique in Madrid? " for more information. Good luck!

Thanks. smile That was the thread I half recalled. Unfortunately the word "kitchen" did not occur in it thus the search failed.

Popped in today and they do have 1 model (Chef's) of the Bron series.

Haven't quite decided whether to patronize them or the ancient hojalataería tienda (shop) over on Calle Imperial (which will likely go out of business inside of 5 years due to competition from more "modern" shops) - established 1889 or such. Price is the same... the model slightly different. As might be expected, the old shop has the 'traditional' model and the fancy shop has the newer 'chefs' version.

Or, shall I wait for when I'm next in Paris since they actually come from France anyway. confused
