Good post Virginia. Maybe it's time for people to look at a Noah's Ark type shelter. We have one here in our community, and my wife and I have been active in supporting it, and keeping the work going. At Noah's Ark, there are no animals put to sleep. They are all adopted. Usually they are neutered, and declawed. Our community has been blessed by even having Veterenarians who have graciously donated their time and resources to help us with this cause.

Here's a link to our center, it may give you suggestions, and ideas that would be helpful in Madrid. Knowing the capacity for love that Madrid area residents have, it would be worthwhile investigating the possibilities.
