Hello-

My wife and I are traveling to Spain for the first time in March.

Since we booked our trip, we've had a good time practicing key phrases. I remember quite a bit from the 3 years of Spanish I had in high school, which surprised me, but I have a quick question. My wife asked me how to describe the weather... if it's hot, cold, windy, etc. I remember geing taugh that Hace calor is hot, Hace frio is cold, Hace viento is windy, etc., but I'm curious to know if this is commonly used. Do Spaniards still say "Hace frio" to say it's cold? Or, is that a much more formal way of speaking?

Thank you.
