When you just can't decide betweeb train and bus. Bugs, you might also consider flying to Malaga, then taking a quick bus ride to Ronda. Then, you could go to Granada, Sevilla, Cordoba, and finally back to Madrid. I think the train ride between Ronda and Granada is actually faster than bus, at least when I went. Last year, I took a bus between Sevilla and Ronda and enjoyed the trip a lot, seeing hilltop villages from the distance. I, too, have had difficulty accessing info about European bus schedules. Have faith! You will get where you want to go.
