I hope you gave has a good week.
For many of you the summer holiday will have come and gone and you will be returning to your usual routine. I hope you have benefited from the break.

Man's inhumanity to man was reflected in the news this morning. Two items particularly caught my attention:

The first was the bombing of a wedding feast in Kabul where 63 were killed and more than 180 were injured.
The second was on man's inhumanity to his children and his children's children. Global warming has caused the demise of a glacier in Iceland. What once was a giant glacier has been reduced to a small patch of ice atop a volcano. A commemorative plaque has been put in place. I think we need to take global warming seriously now.

I met my new friend Phil on the temporary campsite.

Phil is a pheasant!
Not long after I pitched up, he came to have a look. Here is is...

Now Phil was a great alarm clock and would visit me daily. He would give out a pheasantly screech and flap his wings every morning - at 5 am!

How has your week been? Whether good or bad, I hope you have had a good weekend and managed to rest up for the week ahead.

These forest fires in the Amazon are a concern aren't they?

I do a lot of walking in Keswick, so it is good to get some time to put my feet up

Down in Hope Park

It has great views to offer

Down by Derwent Water
