Goodbyes said, it was time to head home

Not a muscle museum but a mussel museum...

Let's head back to Cabo de Cruz on the coast. Down at the port there is a museum dedicated to mussel production in the Arousa Estuary.

This is the port at Cabo de Cruz

It is a pretty setting

That's my finger, not a beach!

Just look at these scoops

Let's head into the mussel museum...

How time is marching on! - it is the beginning of yet another week. I hope your weekend went well and that you manages to body swerve Black Friday!

We should be thankful that rains in California have stopped the raging wildfires which have caused so much destruction and displacement there.

Let's head to the museum in Cabo de Cruz... @

All sorts of shellfish were on display

The displays were simple but effective

Ancient tools of the trade were also on display

With models of some of the boats used through the ages to harvest mussels

This gentleman took great pleasure in describing the process of raising mussels to maturity

These are models of the barges on which the mussels are grown.

After the visit to the museum we went for a drive in the area around Cabo de Cruz. Here are some images so that you get s feel for the area...

We ended up at a small village and port. For the life of me I can't remember its name!

Then it was time to head home to Boiro

My last full day. What a treat!...

My last day in Boiro issued fast approaching. The penultimate day was spent at Val de Rois golf club..
The weather continued unseasonal hot.

No birdies, no eagles, just sheep!

The old finca at the club

Following our round it was soon time to relax

A treat for my last day - we were heading back to Macenda and Pitch and Putt de Barbanza for a round and a roast chicken lunch...

Looking down on the cemetery an church at the parish of Macenda

Let's head to the course..

The vine canopy covering the canopy is laden with grapes

Heading to the first tee

We are at Macenda near Boiro playing pitch and putt on my last full day day in Galicia....
/
It was another glorious day

It was hot on the course

We were glad to get to the 19th hole

Where we cooled off with a cold drink

It was my final occasion to enjoy the views

This was a perfect ending to my two week stay in Spain

But all good things come to an end and the next morning it was time to head to the airport and return home

It was a lovely to meet up with friends again but it was time to bid bye bye to Boiro for another year

Time to clean the dust off the camper van and head off on another adventure. Where will it be?...

Back home and planning my next trip. Autumn came and went quite quickly.

The colours came early

But they did not last long

These photos were taken on a walk by the river Don

We did have some lovely sunrises this year

All too soon, high winds and lots of rain took their toll on the leaves on the trees

A sad occasion ...

It was a sad occasion attending the funeral of a friend. Funerals remind us of our mortality in this world.

At the same time, it was an occasion to celebrate the passing of someone to better place

We were in a lovely rural location

The early autumn colours were all around

It was a very rural setting

Another road trip...

Storm Diana hit the UK this week bringing lots more rain and very high winds. The usual travel chaos ensued!

It is time to jump into the camper van and head off on another short road trip.

On this occasion we will be taking some golf at Carnoustie, visiting Monifieth and the new, highly acclaimed V & A Museum in Dundee.

Join me as we see the sights on this trip...

After a little more than one hour we arrive at our destination, Carnoustie Golf Club

They have built a new clubhouse since I was last here

The trip here is to see the Alfred Dunhill Lunks Championships

Some of the players practising

The flags tell the story - it was a windy day

A famous view, looking from the 18th fairway to the Carnoustie Golf Hotel

It is an iconic sight against the blue sky

I'm sure you'll recognise some places that we have visited together in this blog!

Up close and a bonnie beach at Monifieth...
