We are on the Moray Coast walking between Portgordon and Buckie...

Looking at the Ice House near Portgordon

A view along the coast reveals some of the effects of the long dry spell.

Ahead you can see the scorched earth

It is the result of a gorse fire

It is very close to Buckpool Golf Course

Lost golf balls suffered in the intense heat.

Some were badly burned

It was a sad sight to see. The acrid smell of burning still pervaded the air.

Good morning and I hope that you are having a good weekend and are all set for the week ahead.

Now, more than 1,300 people are known to have died following Friday's disaster after the 7.5-magnitude quake struck just off the central island of Sulawesi.
Our thoughts and prayers should be with those affected by the disaster.

Back on the Morayshire coast...

It was chilling to see all the burned landscape as we walked between Portgordon and Buckie

Most of the golf course was untouched by the fire

We experienced a beautiful sunset that evening

Next day we were back in Buckie for the convention

Then it was time to head back and walk along the rocky shoreline

The clear water

As I previously mentioned, the trip to the Moray Coast was for the Keswick in Buckie, a week long Christian Convention

It was good to meet up with some friends that I'd not seen for a year.
We headed to Findochty on foot by the coastal path

The rocky coastline

But a bit of beach colour adds to scenery

A sandy cove lies ahead

We are in the village of Findochty, on the Moray Coast, having just walked from Buckie.

It was time for lunch...

We stopped at The Admiral, the only pub in town

Fish and chips seemed appropriate but with beans instead of peas

An after lunch walk was in order...

The marina

A view of the harbour front

More photos from Findochty...

These look a bit stately

We are heading up there to the war memorial

One thing that fascinates me about Findochty is the painted houses. They are so colourful...

Part of the sheltered sandy beach

Part of the shore line

A memorial to loved ones lost at sea

We came across this curious garden...

It was full of ornaments and trinkets

Some were a little gruesome

Heading back to Buckie...

Leaving the garden full of trinkets behind, it's time yo head back to Buckie. Instead of going back via the coastal path, we'll take the inland route that makes use of the former railway line...

A last look at Findochty

The shore at Strathlene

Strathene House

Looking to Portessie and Buckie from Strathlene

Looking back to Strathlene House

Autumn is here in Aberdeen

It crept up quickly

But it won't be displaying its colours for long as Storm Calum brought high winds that have blown mist of the leaves off the trees

Talking of storms, we have had two hurricane events recently. Hurricane Michael hit Florida in the States and Hurricane Leslie left a trail of destruction in Portugal.
Our thoughts and prayers should be with those folks affected by these events.

I hope you have had a good week, a peaceful weekend and that you are looking forward to the challenges of the new week ahead.

We have had stormy weather here in the North East of Scotland with high winds and lots of rain. Here are this week's Sunday Snaps from the BBC... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-45833558

This month's Sole Mate's walk was through the Botanical Gardens at the University of Aberdeen. Preceding that, we walked to the Tillydrone Motte and Benholm's Lodge.

We met in Seaton Park to begin the walk

The autumn colours were on the trees

A colourful Cathedral Way

We are heading to Tillydrone Motte
