Metrobús is a 10 trips ticket valid for both buses and subway. There's no "Metro" only ticket (well, except if you buy a single ticket).

I think in Barcelona you can buy a 10 trips ticket for Metro only but in Madrid there is only Metrobús which, in my opinion, is very convenient.

That's the way it used to be in Madrid: One 10-ride bus ticket and another for Metro. The beauty of this is that if two people are travelling together, both can use the same multiple-ride ticket (as long as it isn't used up) - just pass it back to your fellow traveler.

You can still pass the 10-ride ticket back to a friend (if it isn't yet used up), but now ALL 10-ride tickets, called "Metrobus", are used for both/either Metro AND Bus.
