Has anyone moved to Madrid with a dog? From the USA? As usual, nothing is very clear when you try to research this topic.. Juliana is trying to work out getting back to Madrid or Barcelona, but has acquired a puppy that Jacmom loves but does not want-simplify,simplify

never took a dog out of any country, but it will go thru lots of paperwork and make sure has all the vaccines. Puna gave you plenty to read above.
Cheers and best of luck.

Jacmom, it looks like if Juliana's pup has a clean bill of health from the vet; all the needed shots, is chipped, etc. it shouldn't be that hard to manage. As Pedmar said - lots of paperwork but def. not impossible.

My guess is that there is also more paperwork required at the Spanish end so you might want to check the government official site.

If Juliana is flying from Utah the transport won't be cheap and will be an issue of concern simply because they will need to transfer the dog from plane to plane.

Thanks, Puna. The cost will be high and you are right, a lot of the issue is the Utah location which adds in so much travel time. Another issue will be finding apartment that allows dogs, so puppy may have to arrive after Juliana has settled, but with all the dogs in Madrid, hopefully that will not be a problem.

Right now it is all just research.

Jacmom, the plus side: your Juliana will always be safe with a dog. Yep, I know Madrid is safe but trying to make you feel better for having to deal with this. smile
