Anyone got any feedback on this hostal . The pictures look fantastic . An old school friend of mine , now an eminent priest , will be in Madrid in late December with his son and is asking my advice . I can see where it is ... superb location but never heard of the place before . http://www.abracadabrabandb.com/

I agree, the place looks fantastic in the photos...Will be interested in comments. In Sept I was at Hostal Acapulco, Plaza Csrmen, off Gran Via. It was very nice, updated, and centrally located as well. The prices were about the same as this one.

I'm hearing from our friend MM that when he looked into the place it appears that quite a few rooms are not en-suite . I've only ben in a place with shared bathroom facilities ( Nato army base in Germany ) and I much prefer to have my own bathroom . Having said that there are over 300 reviews on Tripadvisor , almost all of which are 5 stars and the heading is :
Ocupa el puesto n.º3 de 220 hostales y pensiones en Madrid .

For a private bathroom at around €75 that´s expensive for an hostal .. so I'll stick with my €40 option from my last visit which I loved ( Hostal Adriano ) . That price was a discount for a long stay by the way so may be quite a bit higher just for a few days . Great staff , and very clean .. private bathroom AND ( important for summer in Madrid ) your own little fridge .
