well after so many years of traveling and moving and gaining nationalities ::) I am finally landing in Asia more and more.

Totally different, and will take time to get adjusted. I am leaving next week for Indonesia again NGORO, Surabaya and Jakarta. Then move direct to Quingdao in China. It will be my first trip to mainland China. the trip goes on next month to re visit Vietnam ,HCMC.

what are your experiences with Asia in general and China in particular. I am so westerner lol!

My good friends who are teachers just moved to Surabaya to teach at the INternational school there. They LOVE it!!!! The just jetted off to Bali for the weekend. They have two kids and the kids love it too! I value these friends' opinion as they have lived in Barcelona for years, France, travelled all over the world, and I;'ve known them for over 20 years!!!

Enjoy Indonesia!!!

thanks laduque.

yes indeed Surabaya is nice, just we have expats working there and the women are still a bit uncomfortable due to the strict religion. Otherwise is nice.
More so than Jakarta. Of course ,having Bali nearer from Surabaya is a plus;totally international there.

thanks again

it was routine, not a fan of it. Just there for business. The shops close by 7:30pm we rode around with a local driver to find a restaurant and finally end up for a hop pots place that was open late.
the street are clean, public transport do not know, had locals to drive me around. try to eat with chop sticks , never master it.
its a weird feeling to be in a controlled country and see everyday life as if nothing happenned, lots of business is still done Under the table lol!

I had the shuttle to the airport late and got a discount and an upgrade at the hotel a HI, so not bad for Customer service.
its was good for the beer in the old German colony of Qingdao...
