I am thinking of taking the whole gang to Spain next summer. It seems to be more economical to rent an apartment where we can cook some of our own meals vs. staying in a hostel or hotel. Has anyone ever used www.idealista.com for vacation rentals? It certainly appears they have some. Any other suggestions for finding apartment rentals? Gracias!

I tried idealista but either they didn't answer or the great apartment was not available! So now I use Homelidays or Niumba-individual owners, reasonable prices. How many bedrooms/persons?

I love idealista.com, but have never used it for rentals. I do, however, love how the website is designed and organized.

Teachertravel8-I don't know what price you would be comfortable with but be aware apartments tend to be smaller especially the kitchens. Most of the time they don't have ovens or big refrigerators.Just make sure you check if it's got A/C, an interior or exterior one and on what floor-most don't have elevators and going up/down stairs w/groceries loses its charm very quickly! I always stay either in the Barrio de Letras or Opera.

The link works for me, although there was an initial slow period while the front page loaded.

Did it take more than 10 minutes? Errr... no. Just tried it again and it worked. Maybe try another browser? Odd, though. I'm using Firefox and didn't have any problem.
