On Sunday, 13 March 2011, Marta, my wife, and I were taking the cercanias train (commuter train) from Torrejon de Ardoz to Madrid. When we walked onto the train station plaza we saw about 50 bouquets of flowers that were placed in front of statue dedicated to the victims of the train bombings on 11 March 2004. A closer look revealed that some of the flowers had the names of victims on them.

The trains that had bombs placed in them were the cercanias trains from Alcala de Henares to Atocha. One of the stations on the train is Torrejon de Ardoz. The victims boarded the trains at Torrejon de Ardoz and other stations to go to work and school. They died or were injured on that sad day in Madrid. It's reported that 191 persons died and 1800 were injured on 11 March 2004 on 11 March 2004.

The victims should never be forgotton. May the rest in peace.
