I would avoid Elipa Park early in the morning ( sorry Pedmar ) ... But I have seen the baseball ground there AND they do have an inside gym on top of the hill . I used to live just the other side of the M30 in Fuente del Berro . The views fro Elipa are pretty cool but there's a housing estate ( social housing ) right by the park full of Gypsies and I have never felt so unsafe ( And I've walked the streets of Moscow at night alone !! ) . Also they have a swimmimg pool( outdoors )nearby ( La piscina la Elipa ) which gained noteriety some years ago when a gay couple ( one Spanish and one Canadian ) were chased by gypsy kids ( whilst there parents supported them ) after they kissed in public . The kids threw rocks at them and I believe it was the Canadian guy that required facial reconstructive surgery . In general now the outdoor pools will not allow people poolside if they are not wearing a bathing costume and the traditional gypsy women , for example , abide by modesty laws requiring full length dresses . This isn't an attack on all gypsies ( I have gypsy blood ) but , as in all major European cities , there are problems and I taught some gypsy kids ( very bright ) in Villa de Vallecas. The problem is that it seems the Ayuntamiento de Madrid hasn't really got a grip on the situation whether they are PSOE or PP . The biggest slum area ( almost entirely gypsies ) is in Cañada Real - Madrid .
