I am not certain, but I would try El Corte Ingles.

I want to buy a crock pot for my friend when I get to Madrid as a gift. Any suggestions, do they even exist in Spain??? Since he's been home (in the US) he thinks he would really like to have one... Karen If you're mobile I would recommend Sepulveda, for souvenir clay pots. They're also quite functional

I can't say I've ever seen a crock-pot (a.k.a. "slow cooker") in Spain but they do use stove-top pressure cookers for FAST cooking of normally slow-cooked foods.

Please keep us informed, Kipper, on your success (or lack of it, possibly) of finding a Crack Pot... errr.. a CROCK pot. (hope you don't find too many of the former and plenty of the latter) Saludos, MadridMan

Any luck yet finding the Crock Pot? If so, where did you buy it?

Hello all:
My first post here, and I didn't see a category for new member intros, so I hope I am not breaking any protocol here!
I live in Istanbul and there's certainly no concept of crock pots here, so imagine my delight when I found this thread.... Will definitely buy one... but what is a crock pot called in Spanish?

This has been a confusing topic. In the USA, 'crock pot' and 'slow cooker' are used inter-changeably(is that a word?). They generally refer to an a ceramic lined pot with an outer metal shell that has some sort of electric tube in between the ceramic and metal parts. You can leave the house for work and have dinner cooking and ready by the time you come home. See www.crockpot.com for a picture.

I paid about 50 euros .. though it was a couple of years ago so I can´t quite remember exactly . The weight´s not the only issue , it´s the bulk . These are quite big . I cook things like ratatouille , stews , casseroles etc . You can just throw everything in , turn the cooker on and it´ll do all the work .
