A jet flying from La Guadia airort in new york has made a miraculous landing on the hudson river, the plane took off and after 45 seconds flew into what is believed to be a flock of geese, both engines failed, and but for the skill of the pilot a major tragedy has been avoided, all 155 passengers have been saved BRILLIANT (pictures below) The Pilot must have been a Naval Aviator from the expertise shown with that 'Pancake' landing on the water right in the Hudson River. They avoided the tall buildings in midtown Manhattan and just 'set 'er down' gently on the river. The Pilot deserves a Medal!

Do not forget to add to this heroic story, the pilot was the last one to leave his plane.

The pilot was a former fighter pilot. According to the news he is a former fighter pilot who runs a safety consulting firm in addition to flying commercial aircraft.
He flew F-4 fighter jets with the Air Force in the 1970s. He then served on a board that investigated aircraft accidents and participated later in several National Transportation Safety Board investigations.
The plane didn't pancake when it landed but came down sliding on it's belly tail first. Pilot Sullenberger was the last one to leave the plane and walked up and down the aisles twice making sure no one was left behind. Yep, the guy's a hero!

And in the midst of all the news of deaths in Gaza and Israel and wars , murders etc... IT¨S NICE AT LAST to see a heart warming story in the news . It´s a story straight out of an old fashioned "Boys Own" manual . The pilot and crew are heros , for sure . Steve

Really??! I saw the guy, when, at the beginning of halftime but I thought he was with the NFL organization. He was standing there with 4 (or 5) other people. I wonder if he flew the plane to Tampa himself - doubt that.
