sorry to hear Paris is expensive, compare to what? a bit more than Madrid but cheaper than New York as big cities goes.
5 euros!!! where the cafe was taken at the Louvre?
the most ever paid by me is 2,60 and if taken at the counter is 1,30 euros. I live in the area and go to Paris every day, work there.

the 5 euro coffees were at a neighborhood cafe on Blvd. San Marcel, across the street they were 3,60 euros. Also, we had coffee across from Notre Dame...of course, I would expect everything to be more expensive in that area though.
