Okay folks in the Northeast and closer. I am suggesting a get together in a place we can ALL meet. Can anyone put their two cents in ?
I'll be more than happy to assist with all the arrangements. Hey MadridMan, you're not so far away we can scoot you over for a day or two. C'mon down as Bob Barker would say !!!

Hi NEWYORKRED!
Sounds like a GREAT idea! I'd love to go if it's not TOO far away but by NE USA I imagine you mean in New England or East Coast, no? I'll follow this thread and its developments closely. smile

Saludos, MadridMan

Melinda, I am so happy for you...persuing your dream! Have a wonderful time and good luck with the new job. If you happen to be around Jaca in July send me an email...perhaps we can get together.
and YES...our MM gathering a couple of months ago here in Manhattan was fun! I hope we can do it again soon. Joe Sambuca, Nate and Bobster, where are you?

I'll try but I'm not sure if I'll be able to work. I've got a job in Lloret and I'll be working afternoons/evenings Mon-Sat so I only have Sundays off :p But if you take a weekend trip over to the beach, I'd love to get together with guys! You can meet my new catalan "family" hehehe... My friend Celes, her husband and her two adorable little girls (2 and 10). We're so excited to be spending the summer together... Haven't decided where I'm going afterwards... I would like to stay there since I have work but it depends on housing and everything. But I'll deal with that in September!

Hey guys,

I haven't been on this site in weeks! I just came on to get another NYC dinner organized... How about the 14th or 21st of June? There's a restaurant I passed a couple weeks ago near West Village, it's called "El Rincon de Espana" it seems like they have flamenco there- has anyone been??? What other suggestions do people have? I organized the last couple dinners and they were an absolute blast- I don't doubt this one will be just as fun and crazy!!!

I heard that a good place to eat might be Flor's Kitchen- it's got Spanish and Venezuelan food... it's supposed to be good value for your money too... has anyone been? It's on 149 1st Ave, between 9th and 10th St. Any other suggestions???

So, who's in? So far, it looks like:

Newyorkred
Joe Sambuca
Majesty318
Esperanza (+ 3 again??? Bring your kids, we all had a blast last time!!!)
Angela
Bobby (yep, I'll be there too)

So that is 6 so far, not including any guests... Around 10-12 is a good number to shoot for.

Looks like June 21st works for almost everyone, now let's finalize a restaurant!

MadridMan, NY is only a short flight away...!

Sorry I haven't been around much Esperanza, I was in San Diego for 3 weeks on business and then had some trips on the side- but I'm back and ready to get the bola rolling!

NEWYORKRED, since you SHOUTED your message to me I'll SHOUT my reply back to you... ahem... (clearing throat)...

THE AMTRAK ONLY GOES TO CLEVELAND HERE IN OHIO - THAT'S ABOUT 2-2.5 HOURS NORTH OF WHERE I LIVE!!!!!! I ONCE LOOKED INTO THE NYC-CLEVELAND ROUTE AND FOUND THAT WHILE MUCH CHEAPER THAN FLYING IT TOOK SOMETHING CRAZY LIKE 12 HOURS!!!! (don't know if I can keep up at this pace but I'll try..) SO IF YOU FIGURE IN THE WAITING AROUND TIME IN CLEVELAND, ADD THAT TO THE TRAIN TRIP, IT WOULD PROBABLY BE ABOUT 15 HOURS!!! UGH!!!!! SORRY!!!! I JUST COULDN'T DO IT AS MUCH AS I'D LOVE TO SEE YOU, JOESAMBUCA, NATE, AND THE REST OF "Our Gang"!!!! YOU LEFT SO SOON AFTER THE START OF THE LAST (APRIL) MADRIDMAN PARTY THAT I DIDN'T EVEN REALLY HAVE A CHANCE TO TALK TO YOU!! WHAT A SHAME! I'M SURE YOU'LL ALL HAVE A GREAT TIME THERE IN NYC WITH OR WITHOUT ME!!! ENJOY!!!!

(pant... pant... pant...) Saludos, MadridMan wink

I guess I figured you weren't that important Nate...

Just kidding! My bad, I was typing the list so quickly I forgot to add your name- so that makes it 7 so far.

NewYorkRed, if you could RSVP 10 people that would be great. It should be accurate, give or take a couple. I'm still waiting to see how big Esperanza's clan is going to be! If she brings her family, and I know another person that may be coming too, we will be right around that 10 person mark. So give him the head's up, and if any of you guys is planning to bring guests, let me know so I can update the number.

Ciao for now!

Bobby

Dinner at Flor's is promptly at 6:30PM. No Later. Reservations have been made in my name with cc guarantee.

Eight O'clock, no good. But 6:30PM perfecto. Any problems with that ?

Hey Mikey, welcome! Just so everyone knows: we're going to Flor's Kitchen on 149 1st Ave, between 9th and 10th St. Our reservation is for 6:30, so everyone try to get there on time please!!! I know how tempting it is to go fashionably late, I do it more often than I'd like to admit. If anyone has last minute questions, you can call my cell 617-755-9700.
