Does anyone know of a specific website/radio station that would broadcast the Real Madrid v. Barcelona game on Sunday? I don't get it on tv and I'd like to listen to it on the radio...anyone know anything?

Wow. That's a big one. I'll definitely look into that and let you know. If any Spaniards are aware of the particular station carrying it tell us. My FIRST guess would be either TeleMadrid radio or even one of the Radio Nacional de España stations.

The most popular radio show broadcasting games is, definetely, "El carrusel deportivo", in Radio Ser. Go to cadenaser.com and you'll listen to it live.

JasMadrid: That's great, but do you know FOR SURE that THEY will be broadcasting this game?? THAT'S the question.

I see from the CadenaSer.es site's Programming page @ http://www.cadenaser.com/parrilla_programacion/ that the Carrusel Deportivo broadcasts from (local Spain time) 4pm to 11pm. So SHOULD we assume they're broadcasting the game??

Another question for Spaniards (et.al): Can multiple radio stations carry the same fútbol games or can they not for reasons of "paid rights" to be the exclusive radio station to broadcast the games?

Saludos, MadridMan

I've looked high and low and cannot find a definite radio station broadcasting that game online. All I can suggest is to try Cadena Ser and Radio Nacional de España in search of the game near the start time. Even try some of the radio stations in Cataluña - although the broadcast would likely be in Catalán language. Hmmm..

In my search, I found that Radio Libertad in Madrid MAY be carrying the game. You'll find their website & live radio link @ http://www.radiolibertad.com/ . Their website it states:
Quote:
>> HÉCTOR GOL
Vive la pasión de la Liga con Héctor del Mar, Cristóbal Cabezas y Álvaro de Paz en el gran estadio de Radio Libertad.
Este sábado, día 9 de abril, a partir de las 19:45 h., sigue con nosotros el encuentro Numancia - Atlético de Madrid.
Y el domingo, día 10 de abril, disfruta del gran clásico del fútbol español, desde las 18:00 h., Real Madrid - F. C. Barcelona.
So, I'm not sure if this is just a pre-game discussion of the game (since the game starts at, what, 9pm local time?) or broadcast of the game itself. I don't know.

To listen, you must have the FREE WINAMP PLAYER or FREE Audio Active Player (this is the one I use) installed first.

(I'm listening to it now and they're playing a mix of English rolleyes and Spanish language music)

Has anyone else heard WHO is carrying this game on the radio?? It doesn't seem that EVEN TVEi is carrying the game so I won't get to SEE it either. Hmph! rolleyes

I think that RADIO MARCA broadcasts some segments of the match but I don't think they do the entire thing. But I'm positive that at least they will have constant updates on the progress of the game.

The TV broadcast here in the states is done by GOL TV, a new station out of Miami that has exclusive rights to the spanish futbol telecasts here in the US.Here in San Diego is only available thru satellite but in some cities like Miami,LA and New York this channel is carried by some cable tv companies.

As for TV stations showing it here, I know no cable stations in my area are showing it. My bf is a huge Barcelona fan and I think Dish Network will be carrying it. He always says how they show all the games.

Eduardo Corrido, is that how you're watching the game on TV? Via Satellite dish?? What channel is it on?

I found lots of places online for the "GameCast" stats which are updated every 60-seconds or so. One is the ESPNDEPORTES site with the GameCast @ http://soccernet.espn.go.com/gamecast/ga...P.1&lang=es

As for Radio Marca: Listen @ http://www.marca.com/radiomarca/escuchanos/online.html

Try the Brazilian TV channel Taroba which broadcasts via the internet. The link is Taroba TV
I subscribe to a site that lists live internet football matches - and they say that it will be shown on this channel. It is not a high speed stream so it may be a bit stilted. Give it a try and let us know how you got on.
If I find out any more streaming sites for this match, I will post just before the match starts, so check back.
Regards
Robbieroy

Eduardo
Here are another 2 links to try for this match:
http://www.calciolibero.com/cctv5.htm in Chineese!
and
http://www.calciolibero.com/telesistema.htm possibly in Italian

I and, I am sure other MM members would be interested in the quality of these broadcasts so please give us your feedback.
Regards
Robbieroy

Regarding the start time of the game,I've just checked both the Real Madrid and Marca websites and according to them the game will start at 7pm (not 9pm) Madrid time. This is rather strange because a game of this magnitude usually is the last game of the day and on Sundays it would mean a 9pm start and televised on Canal+. confused

I will be watching the game on Gol TV, which a friend has through his satelite. I'm not quite sure of the channel.

2 hours to go before the game!

I've been listening to a number of radio stations on the internet and MANY of them are talking about the upcoming game but I still can't tell WHICH of them are actually CARRYING the game live on the radio.

Be sure to check back here at around game time (1pm Eastern USA time or 7pm Spain time) and I'll post WHICH stations are broadcasting the game.

Right now, I'm listening to Onda Madrid (i.e. TeleMadrid) and they've started the Pre-Game coverage, talking about the respective teams leaving their hotels in Madrid for the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, etcetera. I must admit, the build-up is quite exciting but I'll probably be somewhat borded DURING the match. Good thing I have LOTS of work to do during the broadcast.

I'l also check in on the LIVE STATS of the game via the Live GameCast in English or the Live GameCast in Spanish .

Also, live stats and photos (?) of the game found through the Real Madrid site HERE .

Saludos, MadridMan

For those not able to watch/listen...

Real Madrid is winning 3-1, following goals by Zidane(6:06), Ronaldo (19:42), and Raul(45:??)

This is going to be quite the game...

It might just be me, but the espndeportes.com game stats seem to be lagging BADLY (I'm listening to the game too...). It might just be my connection though...

4-2: Real Madrid leads. GREAT game so far. I can't believe even *I'M* enjoying it as much as I am!

mse924, the ESPN GameCast stats are probably about 1.5 minutes behind. I think the page refreshes each minute and someone has to type in the details of each pass/event in the match before they upload the information to the ESPN GameCast site.

Ganadores!

Wow, what a game! Real Madrid defeats Barca 4-2!

MM, my lag was running close to 10 minutes at one point. I think it was probably b/c I had several other programs running at the same time. I eventually just closed it and enjoyed the game solely on Radio Libertad smile

MadridMan, I'm sorry I couldn't answer before the game. Cadena Ser, as well as most radio stations, ALWAYS broadcasts all the games. Carrusel Deportivo is a show in which segments of all games are broadcasts at the same time. They connect with every game in which something important happened, and they always pay special atention to a big game like Madrid - Barça. In this case, Madrid - Barça was the only game played at that time. Every big radio station has its own "Carrusel Deportivo". TV stations due have exclusivity, but in radio it works differently. I hope this info is useful for next games.

JasMadrid, thanks for that added information. I tried connecting to Cadena Ser but could not. Maybe their servers were full. Not sure. YOU could connect? Good for you. I was bouncing back and forth between Onda Madrid, Radion Nacional de España, and the Radio Libertad broadcast but am happy to know MANY stations have the ability to broadcast those games. I wonder when/if the day will come when only those radio stations who pay BIG MONEY to be the exclusive radio stations to broadcast them. Hope that day is far far away.
