Enjoy it? Hardly. Here are a few choice quotes from the paper. The first is from a piece which decries the promotion of condom use:

"Although AIDS affects homosexuals in particular, its spread does not stem from homosexuality but from sexual promiscuity and drugs, which today almost always go together. The Church has always condemned both and has warned of their physical and moral risks. The left, on the other hand, has applauded and laboured to increase, as much as possible, promiscuity and drugs."

Here's another on why the Pope has the duty to attack Spanish government policy. It forgets to mention that he's also technically a head of state. As such, I think the Spanish government has every right to tell him to mind his own business. I digress. Here's the quote.

"If any citizen –Spanish or foreign- has the right and the duty to criticize an administration whose policies both contradict Catholic principles and values (the religion the majority of Spaniards profess) and fail to square with our current Constitution, John Paul II is that person."

By all means read this online paper. But I suspect it's not the sort of thing one would enjoy!

One interesting thing about these media is that they open a window for different positions both politically and ethically. I don't think that they don't have "mandatory" thought line and authors express what they think.

From media perspective, most of their views are also representative of a certain spanish reality (judging by the difussion of the spanish mother "libertad digital"), in that sense, it represents yet another dimension of our complicated reality.

Whenever you read a newspaper, you have to know what ideologic position are you reading.

Libertad Digital, and this english version of Spain Herald, is a rightist newspaper founded and supported by the most prestigious spanish liberal journalists, writters, philosophers and history writters.

One may or may not agree with them, but I think that it is at least a very interesting perspective of what's happening in Spain.

Unfortunately, the leftist alternative in english is El País , which is not free, and what's more important, it is becoming more a propaganda bulletin of both PSOE (socialist party) and the newspaper shareholder (PRISA) for enterprise and political operations, rather than offering solid news from their ideological perspective.
